Operating mechanism of the meridian system 13 – The Eight Extraordinary Meridians

The Eight Extraordinary Meridians have the double-layered structure: One for the paths of Ki and the other for magnetic fields. The diameter of Eight Extraordinary Meridians is three times bigger than that of the Twelve Main meridians. For only two routes (the Conception Vessel, Governor Vessel) among the Eight Extraordinary Meridians, specific acupoints have been known to mankind. For the others of Eight Extraordinary Meridians, only the start point, end point, and flow-path have been known.

The Eight Extraordinary Meridians start at Perineum (CV1), although each flow diagram of the meridians is all different. Perineum is the base of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians and is very important in Life Circuit Diagram (LCD). The Perineum is composed of the precise devices and circuits, which are invisible.

Perineum (CV1) has the Perineum-Chakra, which is a huge device and the power source of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. Perineum is Mog (木) and Gwol-Eum (厥陰) if expressed in Chakra five-Haeng (五行). Perineum always keeps Gwol-Eum state. If the divergent force of Perineum is based on Chakra and Gwol-Eum, the convergent force of Perineum is identical to the meaning of Perineum itself. Namely, the Perineum is designed to receive Eum-Ki (陰氣) in the Life Circuit Diagram from the beginning.

At perineum, there is a bigger tube, which is directly connected to the heart. Magnetic fields generated by working of Sim∙Saeng∙Hyul (心生血; creation of magnetic forces by heart-beats to circulate bloods) are directly connected to Perineum. Magnetic fields directly connected to Perineum far from the heart become stronger by the amplification device in Perineum. The main factor to determine the divergent force of Perineum is the strength of magnetic fields.

Major factors determining the circulation of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians are the strength of magnetic fields amplified in Perineum (CV1) and the divergent force of Gwol-Eum set in the Life Circuit Diagram. The state of Gwol-Eum in Perineum determines the energy size of a person. The stronger Gwol-Eum is, a person can use the bigger energies. In order to improve the efficiency of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians, the Perineum-Chakra (Root Chakra) must be enlightened first.

Perineum (CV1) is connected to WLM (Wiji-Large Meridian; 胃之大絡) * and BLM (Biji-Large Meridian; 脾之大絡)*. The magnetic field is applied to the Ki-particles that came from Wiji-Daerak and Biji-Daerak, which drives the circulation of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. The circulation of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians means that the rough Ki resulting from the food digestion and the magnetic field of the heart [light, Shin (神)] are transferred to every corner in human body through the Eight Extraordinary Meridians.

*Editor’s note: Wiji-Large Meridian (胃之大絡; Stomach Centered Great Branch Meridian) runs through Stomach, Liver and Kidney. Biji-Large Meridian (脾之大絡; Spleen Centered Great Branch Meridian) runs through Spleen, Heart and Lung.

The circulation speed of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians is three to five times faster than that of the Twelve Main Meridians. This is because the tube diameter of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians is bigger and its magnetic fields are amplified at Perineum.

The treatment based on the Eight Extraordinary Meridians is more effective because much Ki and light with faster circulation could be fed into the cells and tissues.

In order to maximize the effect of acupuncture and to activate Ki-madang vividly, the treatments of utilizing the ECAs (八脈交會穴; the Eight Crossed Acupoints) are preferred. The ECAs are the cross points between the Twelve Main Meridians and Eight Extraordinary Meridians. If the ECAs are utilized, the effect works so fast. 

Human body has many CAs (交會穴; the Crossed Acupoint) in addition to the ECA. In the PEFA (Protective Energy-Field Area), the secrets of CA will be disclosed by the ones whose spiritual eyes are enlightened. In fact, in the Life Circuit Diagram, there are so many CAs with different layers between the Twelve Main Meridians and Eight Extraordinary Meridians.  

There are many unknown special acupoints other than the ECAs (八脈交會穴; the Eight Crossed Acupoints), which are not described in the traditional Oriental medical texts. Seeing the invisible meridians is to approach the truth of life. The truth of Great Universe is highly crystalized inside human body through the Life Circuit Diagram.

The Life Circuit Diagram is a control tower for the circulation system of blood and meridians. The control tower of the Wi-Ki (衛氣; the Guardian energy which circulates in the outer area of body to protect skin) circulation is the intangible device for lung. The control tower of the Young-Ki (營氣; The energies circulating in the twelve main meridian routes) circulation is the intangible device for heart. 

The control tower of circulation for the Se-Maek (細脈; Thready Vessel, Fine Vessel) and Nag-Maek (絡脈; Branch Vessel) is the Sam-Cho (三焦; three types of fumigation process by Simpo, thyroid, prostate or womb). The control tower for the circulation of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians is Hwe-Eum (會陰; the Perineum, CV1).

The function of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians is summarized as follows:

1.       They are involved in the Circulation of Jin-Aek (津汁; the essential body fluids).

2.      They supply additional energies when doing physical labor and excessive training intensively. They play the auxiliary role for the Twelve Main Meridians

3.      They supply energies to the Special Organs (奇恒之腑; special organs such as brain(腦), spinal cord(髓), bone(骨), Maeg(脈; Ki-flow underneath skin), womb(子宮), gallbladder(膽)) and for their activation.

4.      They accelerate the emission of Sa-Ki (邪氣; harmful and bad Ki) and Tag-Ki (濁氣; Turbid Ki).

5.      They help the Choog-Ki (蓄氣; accumulation of Ki).

6.      They raise up the vibrational frequency of human body.

7.       They affect the workings of emotion cords and consciousness cords.

8.      They help the working of three Po’s: Sam-Cho (三焦; three types of fumigation process by Simpo, thyroid, prostate or womb).

The circulation of Conception Vessel and Governor Vessel in the Eight Extraordinary Meridians starts at Perineum. The other meridian routes of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians start from each meridian’s base point, which is connected to Perineum. And then each meridian begins to circulate after each energy is amplified once again at each base point.
