The Principles behind the Formations of Ki-Madang and Light-Madang In the human body, Ki-energy is absorbed from food by the spleen through its function of Woon-Hwa ( 運化 ; the function of the spleen that absorbs Ki-energy from the gastrointestinal tract and delivers this energy to the meridians). Ki-energy absorbed by the human body through food intake is generally 3 to 9 types, depending on the type of food or medicinal herb.
