[Life Tree TV] Wiji Large Meridian (胃之大絡) and Biji Large Meridian (脾之大絡)

Wiji-Large Meridian ( 胃之大絡 ) and Biji-Large Meridian ( 脾之大絡 )   In the human body, the Wiji-Large Meridian (WLM; 胃之大絡 ) starting from the stomach and the Biji-Large Meridian (BLM; 脾之大絡 ) starting from the spleen are the meridian routes crossing over at the Hwe-Eum ( 會陰 ; the Perineum, CV1). The WLM and the BLM, which join at the Hwe-Eum, are responsible for providing the energy source necessary for the energy circulation through the 8 Extraordinary or Homeostatic Meridian routes ( 奇經八脈 ). The Hwe-Eum ( 會陰 ) literally means the site where all types of Eum ( 陰 ) energy in the body are gathered ( 會 ). In the aspect of the energy state of Eum-Yang ( 陰陽 ), the Hwe-Eum ( 會陰 ) is in the state of Gwol-Eum ( 厥陰 ; The First Phase of Eum energy). In the human body, the energy-emitting function refers to the reactive action of the energy-collecting function and the emitting power depends on the collecting (gathering) power. The term “Hwe-Eum ( 會陰 )” strongly reflects that this acupoint at the per

[Life Tree TV] The Conception Vessel and The Governor Vessel

Image
The Conception Vessel and The Governor Vessel The 12 Meridian routes are called the Main Meridian routes. The circulation through the 12 Meridian routes is called the circulation of Yung-Ki ( 營氣 ). The Conception Vessel (CV; 任脈 , Sea of Eum) and the Governor Vessel (GV; 督脈 , Sea of Yang) belong to the Extraordinary Meridians ( 奇經 ). Or, these two meridian routes belong to ‘ the Eight Extraordinary or Homeostatic Meridian routes ( 奇經八脈 )’, composed of 8 meridian routes.   The circulation through the Conception Vessel (CV; 任脈 ) begins from Hwe-Eum ( 會陰 ; the Perineum, CV1) and reaches Seung-Jang ( 承漿 ; the center of the lower lip, CV24) along the ventral median line of the human body. The route of the Conception Vessel (CV) extended from Seung-Jang ( 承漿 ; CV24) goes inside the mouth, passes through the pharyngeal tonsil, and is continued to Dan-Jun ( 丹田 ; CV4( 關元 ), CV5( 石門 ), CV6( 氣海 )).   The circulation through the Governor Vessel (GV; 督脈 ) starts from Hwe-Eum ( 會陰 ) , passes throu

[Life Tree TV] The Formation of Jong Ki (宗氣) - The Circulations of Wi Ki (衛氣) and Yung Ki (營氣)

Image
The Formation of Jong-Ki ( 宗氣 ) - The Circulations of Wi-Ki ( 衛氣 ) and Yung-Ki ( 營氣 ) The food ingested by the human body is digested into the nutrients which are to be absorbed by the body to be used as energy sources or essential substances for the human body. The nutritive substances (nutrients) absorbed in the small intestine are delivered to the liver through the hepatic portal vein. Then, the liver sends the nutrients to the heart through its functions called “Gan-Jang-Hyul” ( 肝臟血 ; the liver function to detox and purify blood) and “So-Seol” ( 疏泄 ; the action of energy pulling and pushing governed by the liver).   The nutrients included in the blood are supplied to the cells and tissues by the blood circulation, which is a content accepted as normal science in the field of western medicine and biochemistry. Western medicine is the medical science that has been developed, focusing on blood circulation and cell pathology.   According to Oriental medicine, two types of c

[Life Tree TV] The Meridian Circulation through the Pyo-Rhi(表裏) Relation and its Three Cycles

The Circulation through the Pyo-Rhi ( 表裏 ) Relationship and Three Cycles of Circulation in the Meridian System In the meridian system of the human body, the meridian circulation through the meridian routes that have the Pyo-Rhi ( 表裏 ) relationship is much more complicated than the circulation through those with the Jang-Bu-Sang-Tong ( 臟腑相通 ) relationship. Jang-Bu-Sang-Tong ( 臟腑相通 ) means the energy exchanges through two-coupled meridian routes of the same layer. Meanwhile, the meridian circulation through the Pyo-Rhi ( 表裏 ) relationship refers to the energy transfer between two meridian routes belonging to different layers like two meridian routes located in the Pyo layer ( 表 ; the superficial layer) and the Rhi layer ( 裏 ; the deep layer), respectively. The circulation through the Pyo-Rhi ( 表裏 ) relationship is the circulation of Yung-Ki ( 營氣 ), which is the Ki-energy circulating in the 12 main meridian routes. In the magnetic field generated by the Heart, Yung-Ki ( 營氣 ) is
