Types of Meridian Circulation System The meridian circulation in the human body can be largely divided into five systems. (1) The first meridian system is the circulation through the Twelve Main Meridian routes. The energy circulating through this system is called “Yung-Ki ( 營氣 )”. This circulation is driven by the magnetic field generated by the heart, which is called Sim-Saeng-Hyul ( 心生血 ; the generation of magnetic fields by the heart to circulate blood and Ki-energy). Both Ki-Madang (the field of Ki-energy for healing) and Light-Madang (the field of light for healing) can be formed in this circulation. (2) The second meridian system is the circulation through the Eight Extraordinary or Homeostatic Meridian routes ( 奇經八脈 ). This circulation is governed by the Hwe-Eum ( 會陰 ; the Perineum, CV1).
